Volta Trucks to unveil fully electric Volta Zero

Volta Trucks will unveil fully electric Volta Zero on 3 September 2020. The purpose-built electric large commercial vehicle will be revealed at an online launch event.

The Start-up, which is full-electric goods vehicle manufacturer and services company, announced that the vehicle has been designed specifically for inner city freight and parcel distribution.

The company claims Volta Zero will eliminate an estimated 180,000 tonnes of CO2 by 2025 and the launch is a significant step towards zero-emission cities, and improvements in safety for all road users.

The Volta Zero is a16-tonne vehicle with an operating pure-electric range of 150 – 200 kms. The vehicle aims to give the driver a wide 220-degrees of visibility, minimizing dangerous blind spots as the operator of a Volta Zero sits in a central driving position, with a much lower seat height than a conventional truck.

The first prototype Volta Zero is currently being built, and will be launched later in 2020, with the first pilot test vehicles due to start evaluation with customers in Q1-2021.

The launch event can be viewed on the Volta Trucks website, www.voltatrucks.com.
