Mercedes-Benz USA with Microsoft collaborate on remote automotive maintenance

Mercedes-Benz USA with Microsoft have joined hands on Mercedes-Benz Virtual Remote Support powered by HoloLens 2 and Dynamics 365 Remote Assist.

This mixed reality automotive maintenance system, the companies believe, will improve automotive maintenance and the way service technicians work while eliminating travel time and onsite visits.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Remote Assist is a mixed-reality application that helps technicians to solve problems in a heads-up, hands-free environment on Microsoft HoloLens, mixed reality smartglasses that makes mixed reality experience available.

Remote Assist is focused on these three key scenarios:

> Service and repairs: This enables companies to service assets faster by pulling the right remote collaboration fast and capturing the right fix to perform further analysis.

> Surveys and walkthroughs: Helps performing tasks such as inspections, quality assurance, project reviews, and other field service and operations activities by capturing asset information with augmented reality.

> Knowledge and service insights: It empowers technicians to capture the right information and make it available for your broader organization; use repair data from your technician operations to improve your business processes.

Mercedes-Benz Virtual Remote Support was recently rolled out to all 383 dealerships across the U.S.
